Do you have a problem losing weight? Do you fear that your body
is weight loss resistant? The truth is that many people find themselves
resistant to typical weight loss efforts but this does not mean there is
no hope, in fact there are a few common things that dieters do that
keep them locked in this resistant state. This article shares these
common problems and shares how to fix them.
Problem losing weight
1. Your body is too dependent on carbohydrates for energy. If you have been overweight for a long time or you have been feeding your body a diet high in carbohydrates then your body may have become dependent on dietary carbs for energy. This is a problem because your body neglects to use the alternative energy source - body fat.
To get your body back into fat burning mode limit or omit carbohydrates from your diet after lunch for the next two weeks.
2. Your body has adapted to your low calorie/low carb diet. If you have been dieting for a while and notice that your body is not resisting weight loss then your body may have adapted to your diet by lowering your metabolism. This is a protective reaction by your body that protects you from starving.
To convince your body that you are not starving you must boost your calorie intake for a day. One day of overeating resets your hormonal level that triggered the slow down in your metabolism. When you eat the extra calories your metabolism springs into action to burn them and you increase your fat loss and start losing again.
3. Exercising ineffectively. It can be frustrating but not all forms of exercise are created equal when it comes to helping you lose weight. For instance, if you are walking on a regular basis but not losing weight then you will want to boost your exercise by either adding short burst of high intensity throughout your walk (i.e.
speed walk for one-minute intervals) or add a couple of days of strength training to your exercise week.
These exercises boost your metabolism and help your body burn fat more efficiently all day long, even as you rest.
